Unlock Your Potential

What is EMDR?

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy used to help the brain reprocess distressing memories.
  • It is commonly used for trauma, PTSD, complicated grief, anxiety, and persistent emotional triggers.
  • EMDR does not require detailed retelling of traumatic events.
  • The process uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) to support the brain’s natural healing process.
  • Many clients report that memories feel less intense, less intrusive, and less emotionally charged after treatment.

How EMDR works:

  • We begin with a thorough assessment and stabilization phase.
  • Skills for grounding and emotional regulation are developed first.
  • Target memories are identified and processed gradually.
  • Treatment is paced carefully to maintain safety and emotional stability.
  • EMDR can be integrated with traditional talk therapy.environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights into your behavior, and develop strategies to manage your depression.

Is EMDR right for everyone?

  • Not all clients are appropriate candidates for EMDR.
  • Individuals experiencing significant instability, active crisis, or untreated dissociation may need preparatory work first.
  • Medical, neurological, or psychiatric factors are considered before beginning.
  • EMDR requires readiness, emotional regulation capacity, and a collaborative treatment plan.
  • A consultation and assessment will determine whether EMDR is clinically appropriate.

What to Expect

OSessions may feel different from traditional talk therapy.

  • Emotional responses can arise during processing.
  • Many clients experience meaningful shifts, though outcomes vary.
  • The pace and depth of work are always guided by safety.

** EMDR Availability

I am currently offering EMDR to a limited number of clients while continuing professional consultation and training in this model.
