Alcohol & Drug Substance Abuse Courses (ADSAC)

About

Regulations

Regulations

I am certified by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) to conduct ADSAC assessments. These DUI assessments are a critical step in the process of reinstating your driver’s license after it has been revoked or suspended due to offenses such as DUI, DWI, APC, DUID, possession of CDS, or other alcohol or drug-related violations.

Regulations

When your driver’s license is suspended or revoked due to DUI, DWI, DUID, or Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDC), Oklahoma Statute 47-6-212.2 requires you to complete educational courses tailored to your situation. These courses range from a 10-hour Alcohol and Drug Substance Abuse Course (ADSAC) to an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Assessment

To determine the appropriate intervention level, you'll meet with a Certified ADSAC Assessor, who will administer assessment questionnaires and possibly ask additional questions. Based on your responses, the Assessor will make a recommendation and provide referrals for the intervention program that fits your needs.

Red Stamp

Assessment

Assessment

To obtain the Red Stamp, you must complete the intervention recommended by the Assessor during your assessment. If you have previously completed an intervention that meets or exceeds the Assessor’s recommendation, it may also qualify. In some cases, if you meet specific criteria, you may only need the assessment itself to receive the Red Stamp.

Please reach us at kristin@lotusmindllc.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The fee is set by the state and will be the same cost with any ADSAC assessor.  The fee cannot be negotiated.

Depending on the client, the average completion time is 90 minutes.  If you struggle with literacy or comprehension, the time to complete may be closer to 2 hours.

If your license has been revoked or suspended, you will need to complete certain classes or interventions following your assessment to have your license reinstated, unless you have already completed a previous intervention that meets or exceeds the recommendations from ADSAC.

Per the Department of Mental Health Substance Abuse Rules and Regulations, you must begin at least one of the recommendations from your assessment within six months of completing it; otherwise, the assessment will no longer be valid. You will then need to retake the assessment and pay the fee again.
